In fact, Kingsmill Resort has dedicated some 40% of the area’s acreage to environmentally-friendly initiatives. This dedication has resulted in a Virginia Green certification and a listing in Preferred Hotels And Resorts as an eco-friendly hotel/resort. But it’s not about that. It’s about making sure the legacy of pure, natural surrounding is here for generations to come.
Environmentally-friendly practices at Kingsmill include water conservation, landscaping without the use of pesticides and fertilizers, as well as resort-wide recycling. Kingsmill’s three golf courses – The River Course, The Plantation Course and The Woods Course – are “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries.” Natural habitats of bald eagles, hawks, and other endangered birds are protected and not disturbed on the grounds.
